ten years ago i was a staff consultant making $73k. today i’m a vice president at an investment firm. i didn’t have connections. i just kept showing up, learning, and asking for more, even when i was scared. women, go after that promotion. courage compounds faster than salary.
Hello everyone, I need your advice on behalf of a friend who’s not very active here but given permission to post this. He is going to be reading from the comments 🙏
My friend brought his wife’s first daughter (from her previous marriage) to the UK after legally adopting her in Nigeria — she now bears his surname. The girl is now 18 years old.
Since arriving in the UK, she has become very disrespectful and refuses to listen to him. Whenever he tries to correct or advise her, she talks back rudely. Her mother always tries to correct her behaviour, but the girl doesn’t listen to her either.
This situation is now causing serious tension between my friend and his wife. They genuinely love each other, but this issue is creating conflict in their home.
Please, what advice can you give to help him handle this situation peacefully?
