But I was told by the good ol boys of the AAA gaming space that this was one of the best selling assassins creed games ever
Assassin's Creed Shadows is the lowest-selling release among the last five entries. Six months after launch, total unit sales (as reported in some leaks) stand at only around 4.3 million copies. In contrast, the spin-off Assassin's Creed Mirage sold 5 million copies within just three months of release, outperforming Shadows.

Terminator 2D: No Fate delayed AGAIN. Sigh. All of this because they want to release physical editions at the same time as digital and are delaying the digital for the physical. Doubt we see the game this year but time will tell.

With how frequently independents give us far above average games, I don't have the desire to play a more of the same. There is no desire to innovate. I'm sure Obsidian loves their job, I think it's just the product of WHO they do that job for and the constraints it brings.
Finished. 7/10. But what I find sad is that the company and the people who gave us one of my favorite games ever (Fallout & New Vegas) have been unable, even after 15 years and with all of Microsoft's money and latest technological advances, to come up with a single new game mechanic that could take this proven but ancient formula somewhere new. Can any of you think of a single new game mechanic in The Outer Worlds that wasn't already in Deus Ex or the original Fallout games more than 25 years ago? Unfortunately, I can't. Give me a living, simulated world! True non-linearity! Give me something more than loot boxes, maintenance shafts, loading screens and level grinding in a static scripted world.

There are tons of storefronts but players CHOOSE Steam because its the better service. Executives cry like little bitches because Steam holds them accountable on their platform. In-game ads are banned on Steam, no taking money for canceled content, and more. They hate it.
Valve's Steam holds a monopoly on the PC games market, say 72% of industry executives surveyed (via Rokky and Atomik Research)

Hey YouTube uhhh why is my video getting limited ad? There’s zero blood & zero nudity in the video so I don’t understand why it’s happening. There’s genuinely nothing that could be considered problematic here. Thanks.

Hey Rich! Heard you’re creeping my X timeline again—someone even sent me a screenshot mid-livestream. Thought you quit X… welcome back, buddy! Also… I’ve been living rent-free in your head so long, a few lights just went out. Maybe call maintenance? Thanks!

A decade later, I can say that not only were we able to stop the “progress” but we’re actually making it go backwards. And we didn’t have to scream in the streets for it, which by the way didn’t end up working for you guys anyway.

How many inconsistencies have we seen on @steam? It took social pressure, pointing out hypocrisy, and asking for new staff to look over it to win this. But never forget what they said. Never forget what works there. All it takes is 1 to stand up first. Others can win too. But we need people to trust the public will show up for you, because we will. No one likes censorship and even worse is uneven enforcement. I hope they have a fruitful launch and wish them all the success. But this wont be the last time this happens, and so we continue on.
Today is not the end of something, it's the start. Because on this day, we can say we won! Steam have decided to change their decision and not censor our page! We stood our ground and didn't bend the knee, going forward, we will keep fighting censorship. If we can win, so can you! We are a small team hardly anyone knew of, but we stood for what we believed in and won against the biggest platform! But we didn't do this alone, it's because of all of you! People from around the world, You told us to keep going and you stood with us. We are so grateful for you all, and we won't stop now. We have a growing community so thank you for the light in the dark. We don't have to be scared of censorship anymore, without devs making games they have no income, without you the players they have no power. Now, let us show you what we can do without the restrictions, this drama and even the memes (that was a little fun), but with our creations. We have a long way to go but stick with us, give us this chance and we will give it our all. 🤟 This isn't over. It's the start. #StanduptoCensorship We are going to be posting more about this below, we have a lot of questions we are working through with them but don't want to post until we have all the answers, just so it's accurate. Also it still says reviewing on our end but we have been assured they will sort that, so in good faith we have made this post.

Tldr story: 1. Indie Dev of an upcoming Survival Horror game wants to release it on steam 2. Steam intitially refused to because the cover pic is “adult content” 3. Devs ask for clarification, because its literally a pic of the back of a woman in a swimsuit. 4. Steam staff said “well pic of the back of a woman is adult content, regardless of what she wears” 5. More people notice this story, Devs request another staffer to look into their case 6. New staffer much more polite and professional, eventually decided that the cover pic is not NSFW 7. Devs can now release their game. Its troublesome that it happened the way it did, but small victories is a victory.

The PC release of Yotei will really determine the series future. Tsushima got a huge boost off of that in sales. So it's gonna be interesting when we see that.

But Obsidian refuses to do that, this year anyway. Look at Avowed most NPC’s didn’t even move in the world unless they were enemies. Daniel Vavra is right here, Obsidian this year with Outer Worlds 2/Avowed have not wowed neither critics nor fans with their writing or characters. But let’s be real, do you think it’s cause of game pass/microsoft? Their bills are paid either way. Anything they release just gets put on game pass anyways. The sales of the games almost don’t matter as much as say KCD2. Which needed to sell well otherwise Warhorse would be cooked without a “safety net”. I’ve said this in videos but it bears repeating, I believe the best things are made when the tangible weight of utter failure hangs over you. It’s what drives human innovation to grow. You either sink or swim based on your actions. But if they throw you a life jacket everytime you go out, why bother right? What do you think?
Kingdom Come: Deliverance lead says Obsidian should use its Microsoft fortune to make games more like Kingdom Come: Deliverance—'Give me something more than... level grinding in a static scripted world' pcgamer.com/games/rpg/kingdo…
