I think sometimes God uses illness as a way of stopping us and taking our face into his hands and telling us to stop moving. Stop moving and look at me. And if you do, even if it’s only because you are forced to, because you have no other option than to cry out, even if you only stop and seek out of pure desperation, you’ll see, and you’ll find the most beautiful thing you never knew you could find. Knowing Jesus is better than health. It’s better than wealth. Dying with Christ beside you is better than living a long life without him.

Sis got married young and never got to see what it’s like being an “independent woman”, that’s all. Maybe she feels like she missed out on something because social media glamorizes the struggle, the hustle and bustle and hyper-independence. But we see many of those same women who live that lifestyle all praying for the same end goal: marriage! A kind, supportive, successful man worth marrying - the exact way Ayesha describes her spouse. She has the “soft life” that the women she wants to trade places with are praying for, but wanna “get it out the mud” for aesthetics 😭 Girl, enjoy your blessings! What you already have - love, family, health, beauty, and financial stability - is WEALTH. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Family friend Charles Johnson II also gave his life trying to rescue Bryce. Let us not forget about him today.
