I think @StephenM is slightly off here. Having lived many years in the third world, I can say that what you see happening to American cities mostly but increasingly to smaller towns with mass immigration is actually worse than the third world. Probably because the country lacks certain practices s that have become ingrained in the third world to keep the worst aspects of it slightly under control. You put third worlders into a first world nation and you are essentially putting them in a place where there are no external imposed limits on their behavior. Things that would quickly get them into big social trouble, or arrested, or shot, or beaten to death by their neighbors back home, have no protocols in the USA, so third worlders will behave worse there than they would in their homelands.
