Perks of being from a tier 3 college: Hunger → No brand name, so you push harder. Freedom → No one cares, you can try anything. Low Pressure → Less judgment, more experiments. Extra Skills → Have to learn beyond syllabus (open source, projects). Networking → Forced to reach out & build genuine connections. Proof > Pedigree → Work/portfolio matters more than degree. 5/ Fast forward. Abhishek is now in San Francisco on an O1 Visa, working onsite with Station. The lesson? Don’t ask for referrals. Earn them. Build relentlessly Share publicly Stay humble with expectations Let your work make people want to vouch for you In the end, a referral is not something you ask for. It is something you attract. And when you do, it can take you across the world. @kirat_tw @100xSchool Video link - piped.video/watch?v=2fDSAthU…

4/ Within 2 weeks, he got the offer. A full-time US remote role, That was just the beginning. His performance stood out so much that his manager would ask us: “Do you know anyone as good as Abhishek?”

3/ Even then, things weren’t smooth. First company ghosted him. He didn’t rant. He didn’t quit. He kept building, stayed ready. Second company gave him a trial, but on Angular which he had never touched. He learnt it overnight. Completed every task, even fixed unassigned bugs.

2/ That project put him at the top of our mind. He wasn’t chasing anyone. His work did the chasing. When a US-based company came to us for referrals, guess whose name came first? Abhishek. Because he had already proven he could deliver.

1/ Most people spam DMs asking for referrals. 99% get ignored. Abhishek did the opposite. He never asked directly. He earned it. Towards the end of Cohort 1, we needed a certificate manager tool for folks. We casually asked in Discord: “Can someone build this?”
