Overall feel like most companies neglect training. In part because there's always a fire to be extinguished instead. But also because any employee may quit before profiting from it.

This is in particular obvious when people go unemployed while companies whine about how there aren't any people with the proper competences. Relying on students taking on all the risk.
Feel like there is a mutually beneficial agreement in there somewhere... Sharing the risks somehow.
