For his extraordinary heroism and bravery on October 17, 2005 in Salah Ad Din Province, Iraq, U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Alwyn Crendall Cashe was awarded the Medal of Honor. Tragically, Alwyn succumbed to his injuries and passed away on November 8, 2005. He was 35 years old.
