HEADS UP! We just had an X1.7 flare from AR 4274 which is directly facing Earth! There is a complex, hull halo CME on the way with a clear northward propagation bias. Models will be important to see how much of this is actually coming at us. I’ll post later with more updates.
Active Region 4274, located near center disk, produced an X1.7 flare (R3 Strong on the NOAA scales) at approximately 09/0735 UTC. Analysis of any potential CMEs will be accomplished as imagery becomes available. Stay tuned to our website for updates.
Here we go! NASA M2M WSA-ENLIL+Cone model for the X1.7 flare halo CME and we are getting properly hit. Impact is expected on Nov 11th (Tuesday) around 16h UTC (+/-7h). The timing is very close to that in the SWPC model. Estimated max Kp index is between 5 to 8 (not surprisingly). Looks like a good one!
BREAKING🚨: Interstellar comet on Nov. 08 observed releasing faint "jets" emerging in many different directions, including right-to-left TOWARDS the Sun
The Chinese rocket Chang Zheng 3B No. Y67 was launched on 2019 Dec 16 to put two Beidou sats in orbit; it reentered at 1120 UTC over the Cape Canaveral region
This was a for real oh sh!t moment. I initially thought just a jet contrail but then--it started breaking up into dozens of flaming objects. My mind was racing--jet explosion, missile, ICMBs, nah has to be a deorbiting satellite right? Never heard a noise or bomb. just literary cricket and crocking gaiters. I was mesmerizing to watch!

Quite the possible smoothie of CMEs coming in over the next 24-48 hours, including both glancing blows and more direct Earth impacts. Feeling pretty excited at these prospects with modeling having an impact somewhere between 00-06 UTC Tomorrow (6 pm today - 12 am tomorrow CST). A G3 watch is up!
