42 million people depend on SNAP. Trump’s response? File lawsuits. That’s the moral low.

The judge needs to talk to Congress who actually has the power of the purse.

The American people shouldn’t have to fight their own government for food. Yet here we are.

"No Kings," but when congress can't agree on a CR, it's up to Trump to find the money somewhere.

So stupid. Unless there is a contract agreement in place where the government is required to do something in return for the other party doing something for the government, and that party fulfilled their obligation, a judge can’t require the gov to give something to anyone. This coup via legal overturn has to end.

I agree that the government could help those in need to get some food. However, the government should make sure that these people buy healthy food, not transformed artificial food. I’m quite positive that if the government restrains food that can be bought to only healthy food, and untransformed food, it will be beneficial for everyone.

Where the hell is Trump supposed to get the money? IGNORE!

A federal district judge in Rhode Island has no authority in this. And a stay was implemented because well, a federal judge in Rhode Island has no authority in this.

How does a court force the executive to fund something when it is the legislative branch that has the power of the purse? Is this judge in need of a civics class?

All this debate is hiding the real problem: in the richest country in the world, 40 million people depend on food stamps not to starve. This is the sign of a profoundly unjust society, a society rotten to the core.

These funds were not meant for SNAP this is judicial overreach. Congress needs to open the government before funds should be given. Otherwise people actually working shouldn’t have to pay taxes
