So I recorded today's show with my office door cracked open because my kids were eating in the next room and I wanted to make sure they were safe. My son then literally crashed through said door and it led to all of this.
JJ Redick on Austin Reaves (out, groin strain):
- imaging ✅
- mild strain
- pain is "really low, right now"
- "don't know when he'll be back"
- due to low pain, expectation is he will be back "at some point on this trip"
The "Lakers" play the "Hawks" tonight and, hey, if you've ever wondered how you'd fare in an NBA game, you should head down to the State Farm Arena in Atlanta where you just might be able to get on the court! My @joinoffside preview:
You know how crazy it is to say something is empirically the best or worst in the history of the NBA? And yet here we are with Dallas’ offense. It’s such an affront to the sport.

Sources: Austin Reaves underwent an MRI on his groin Wednesday that didn’t reveal significant damage. The Lakers are playing this situation safe and there’s optimism he’ll be good to play Monday in Charlotte. My @joinoffside report:
Unfathomable. My heart breaks for Alex and his family. Really, really cool how the Blue Jays also showed support. Thoughts, prayers and love to the Vesias.
I haven’t looked into this yet but I kind of wonder from the Lakers perspective if, so long as they keep winning, they feel they can remain extra cautious. Atlanta is playing without Trae Young.
A spokesperson for Paul Allen's estate tells me a report that Vulcan is keeping a 20% stake in the Blazers is "unequivocally false" and that once sale to Tom Dundon group closes in March, Jody Allen and Bert Kolde will have no remaining interest.
