This is a lie. Yesterday, Republicans blocked a bill I cosponsored that would have paid our service members and all federal workers.
They could stop health care premiums from doubling and reopen the government today, but they’re choosing higher costs and a shutdown.
Democrats like @CaptMarkKelly and @RubenGallego are now refusing to allow our men and women to be paid during their shutdown. This is unacceptable and a disservice to those who defend our freedoms!
They deserve better - and they deserve their paychecks!
