On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.

If this didn’t make you swell with American 🇺🇸 pride; if it doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, then you have no idea what was given by our American heroes, the sacrifice of life, so you can enjoy the Freedom you have, that no other country in the world has. 🙏🇺🇸. God Bless America

I'm not crying. You're crying. 😢 While the left posts angry TikToks from people who apparently hate our country (and who have lots of metal in their faces), the right does this. ❤️

If you haven’t been you must go. It’s even more emotional in person than watching this. It’s a proud, beautiful, sad, patriotic cry. God bless our military and God bless America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Heart wrenching. Touching. Brings me to tears. The honor, love and respect the Tomb Guards have is admirable. Seeing his son in tears touched me even more. Thank you for sharing this. God bless our military and veterans. God bless those who gave all.

My dad didn’t serve at the tomb, but I feel this one deeply in my bones. I’m so grateful for all those who serve. What an incredible experience for that young man to share with his father. Those are values that will be embedded for life.

I can hear the chants from the changing of the guards from the tombstone of my great-grandparents at Arlington National Cemetery when it’s a clear day. Whenever I visit them, we visit the Unknown, too. It’s a short walk giving time to reflect on all those who came before us.
