“plans” does he?
NEWS -- SPEAKER MIKE JOHNSON plans to swear in Rep.-elect ADELITA GRIJALVA before the government funding vote. This will not change the vote count on the funding bill. But it will put the EPSTEIN discharge petition over the 218-signature threshold. @PunchbowlNews text subscribers got it first - duh

Shaheen will work with you Johnson. She’ll roll over on cue.
JOHNSON in the capitol: “we have always been open to finding solutions to reduce the oppressive cost of health care under the unaffordable care act.”

Sure. First you go away and sit in a corner and stop talking .
Shaheen: "All those people who oppose this agreement -- staying in a shutdown mode was not getting us anywhere. They need to train their fire on the people who are responsible. That's President Trump, Speaker Johnson, and the Republicans who have blocked every attempt to get healthcare. We need to be working together."

NARRATOR: They’re not going to work with her.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work with us."

Lol wut?
BARTIROMO: How do you want this to play out once the ACA subsidies expire? DR OZ: We have lots of great ideas, but I don't want to show our cards. As the president often says, why would I telegraph to you what we're gonna do?

If Senate gets done today shame on every Democratic Senator, all it takes is not providing unanimous consent. Do not make this capitulation easy for them
House Republican leadership will bring the chamber back into session 36 hours after senate passage. So, if Senate gets done today, we’re probably looking at Wednesday return for the House. House Republican leaders will want to do this bill under a rule, which means rule committee meeting, rule debate, rule vote. Have to also imagine they’ll want a conference meeting after nearly two months out of session.

Lol. It was the Republicans who didn’t have the votes, Until the Idiot 8 bailed them out
Most Dems are not hysterical like you and understand that in the end the Dems don’t have the votes.

Ezra Klein: “If I were in the Senate, I wouldn’t vote for this compromise. Shutdowns are an opportunity to make your arguments, and the country was just starting to pay attention. If Trump wanted to cancel flights over Thanksgiving rather than keep health care costs down, I don’t see why Democrats should save him from making his priorities so exquisitely clear. And I worry that Democrats have just taught Trump that they will fold under pressure. That’s the kind of lesson he remembers.” nytimes.com/2025/11/10/opini…
The next meaningful fight in Congress will come after the midterms- IF we take back the House. If I’m the House Dems, I expressly run against the Senate Dem caucus- saying you want to stop Trump? We are the way. Those guys are weak. We will be strong.
Complete disagree. The Senate Dems have zero credibility now. They won’t have a meaningful fight on anything until after the midterms. If even then. I hope House Dems can keep the stench off themselves. Everyone should denounce the Idiot 8. They should be treated like Lieberman

There better not be unanimous consent. Ruin these assholes’ week

This is never happening again.
Replying to @joshtpm @TPM
This is right. The shutdown would have continued indefinitely. ACA tax credits were never going to be approved. Meanwhile employees get paid and this will all happen again in two months. The Dems have a huge upper hand here.

The government isn’t shutting down again. No one will believe them. Not Republicans. Not us. It’s over for the ACA subsidies.
One possible silver lining about this deal (and yes I know it’s a reach) but in January, when the government could shut down again, people will have already started paying higher Obamacare premiums. The pressure on Republicans will be a lot greater then than it is now.

Americans are facing a healthcare crisis NOW and this Senate deal does nothing to fix that. It's a bad deal and I cannot support it. Americans deserve better.
Ah
Amon-Ra St. Brown, who did the “Trump dance,” is a spokesperson for WeShare, a group ideologically opposed to the Affordable Care Act and offers a minimal health insurance “alternative” that doesn’t cover all pre-existing conditions. Here he is promoting WeShare.

Shut up you moron. why would “health care” be more salient then than now? You just think people will remember what you want them to remember
1) passes senate w/ a few Dems 2) passes house w/ no Dems - their reputations clean 3) Health care becomes main topic for next few months into next year 4) Schumer retires You guys are really over estimating how many people follow insider politics. This can easily be a Dem win.

Good. Fuck those idiots up Trump
Sen. Mike Lee wouldn’t say what the last minute push was about but he told reporters as he left the Senate floor that say there were “conversations with the president” and some of the senators.
