I took this photo on October 5th 2023 in Tel Aviv.  A beautiful sunset & a glorious,peaceful calm before the October 7th black storm.  We woke the morning of 7th, on the usually joyous Simchat Torah festival, to the eerie wailing of sirens. I had no idea what the noise was, presuming it was a distant ambulance as I had never heard it before. My sister-in-law came running with her baby & toddler in her arms & her 3 older children speedily following her.She screamed at us to get into the ‘safe room’.  From early that morning we were in and out of that shelter approximately 10 times. We heard rockets fall & felt the shudder as the Iron Dome intercepted them all. We kept our children cheery whilst trying to disguise our own panic. We couldn’t believe the horrific news that was awaiting us. Party goers slaughtered at a music festival.Hundreds of people of all ages kidnapped to Gaza.We were all in shock as the news channels informed us of the death, rape, destruction & heartbreak brought upon Israel & it’s civilians.  Innocent people who just wanted to dance.  Kibbutzniks who gave their all to living in peace & love.  Babies snatched from their beds. A whole year has passed since that horrific, dark day & we have lost so many beautiful souls.  Still,we wait for our hostages to be returned.  We have watched aghast as the world has been turned upside down. Daily,we have seen the ignorant and the uneducated frothing at the mouth with Jew-hatred shoddily disguised as anti Zionism.Blind denial of the violence the Hamas terrorists waged even though Hamas themselves filmed it all & uploaded it.The Jewish people have been witness to the most vile antisemitism, watching a parade of terrorist supporters unleash their venom & march through the streets the world over calling for the death of Jews & the destruction of Israel. A green light given to them to display their rabid antisemitism by the mayors & governors of their cities.  All that hatred directed at one little tiny country the size of New Jersey. Against one little Jewish State. The only Jewish state in the world. And against all the Jews that call it their spiritual home. How life has changed in a year. I recall in recent times seeing numerous posts about George Floyd. Blacking out instagram grids for Black Lives Matters. Standing up for Trans Lives. To Believe All Women. I can’t express the utter disappointment to realise that all those same celebrities, influencers or people I follow on here said nothing after October 7th. Nothing about the babies killed. Entire families wiped out. The burning, the hostages, old, young, teens, babies… Not one word. The raping of women. It’s shocking to realise you must believe all women… unless of course they are Jewish. Aside from the voices of the phenomenal few who have become the new heroes of the Jewish people, the silence has been deafening & I have lost all respect for those I previously held aloft. Most Jewish people are connected to a hostage, a slain Nova party goer, a fallen soldier,a survivor.Or all of the above. We are all one big, loving,but broken-hearted family.  A year on and it still feels like October 2023.  Our hearts are raw with the pain that our beloved brethren are still held by the cruel, murderous Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Grandparents. Men. Women. Babies. Kept in the tunnels of hell. Facing rape, torture & starvation on a continuous daily basis. We will persevere in our fight for them all to be released until our last breath. We will continue to call for the end of terror and radicalism, not just for the Jewish people & Israel, but for all human beings regardless of race,religion or ethnicity.  Thank you to the loving and supportive people on here. I receive so many heart felt dms & I follow some extraordinarily brave, inspiring people.There is a beautiful feeling of unity & love that thankfully shines bright through the dregs of poison & darkness. Hadar Goldin’s team, who fought with him in Operation Protective Edge in 2014, happens to currently be on reserve duty for receiving dead hostages’ coffins (among other tasks), and they were given the coffin of Hadar — the teammate they have been waiting for for 11 years. An extraordinary full circle.

We had the honour of hearing Ayelet speak about her beloved brother, Hadar Goldin, a young lieutenant in the @IDF at our hostage vigil on Friday. He was a poet, a graphic designer and an artist and had recently become engaged to his girlfriend, Edna Sarusi. On August 1, 2014, during Operation Protective Edge, a humanitarian ceasefire had been declared. But with their usual disregard for rules, agreements and deals, Hamas terrorists emerged from a tunnel, ambushing Hadar and his fellow soldiers. Two were killed instantly. Hadar was shot and taken into the tunnel. In the days that followed, the army found evidence with his blood-stained uniform among it, confirming that Hadar had been killed. Yet his body was never returned. For eleven long years, his family has lived with the pain of no body to bury, no grave to visit, no place to mourn, only an ‘aching absence’. Now, after all these years of waiting, praying and fighting for his return, Hadar has finally been brought home. The King's Guard, famous for never moving, just knelt and broke all the rules. The 6-year-old boy, Tom, had been waiting all day for this moment. His dad had promised him he’d see the "real-life toy soldiers." But in the massive London crowd, Tom got separated from his parents. One second they were holding his hand, the next he was alone in a sea of legs. He panicked. He ran, blinded by tears, looking for a safe person. He saw the soldier in the red coat, standing perfectly still. He ran straight to the sentry box, grabbing the man's red coat. "Help me!" he sobbed. The Guard, trained to ignore tourists, to never flinch, looked down. He saw the boy’s pure terror. His heart broke. He glanced at the clock inside his box: 1:58 PM. His replacement was due at 2:00 PM. He broke protocol. He didn't move his body, but he looked down and whispered, his voice firm but kind, "Stay right here. Do not move. I'm helping you in one minute." For two agonizing minutes, the boy just stood there, his little hands clutching the man's coat. At 2:00 PM on the dot, the new sentry marched up and formally took his post. The Guard was now off duty. He immediately stepped away from the sentry box and knelt. "Okay, little man," he said, his voice full of concern. "What's wrong?" The boy's brave face crumpled. "I... I can't find my mommy!" He ran straight into his chest, sobbing. The Guard just held him, his gloved hands patting his back. "It's alright, son," he whispered. "You're safe. We'll find her. You're with the King's Guard now." He held him for five minutes, a rock of comfort, until the boy’s frantic parents were located by the police.

The IDF has returned Hadar Goldin’s rifle to his family. Just months before October 7, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar held up this same rifle before tens of thousands in Gaza’s main square. It took years, but it is now back where it belongs.

When Muslims, pro-Palestine activists, communists, and the radical left are confronted with facts, they curse. Palestinian terrorists have orchestrated the perfect trap for these weak-minded people.
