Under-qualified immersive cosplayers want to to treat children semi- autonomously? Utter, utter madness.

I find it utterly unforgivable that Nash is advocating for medically unqualified PAs to be “semi-autonomous” in the management of children with Leukaemia. Sick kids, who can’t advocate for themselves, and terrified parents, being subjected to quackery.

NVIDIA are pushing a graphics future where the GPU renders at low resolution and uses AI to interpolate more detail. This is basically what we did as kids in the 80’s, the graphics were blocky but our own neurons imagined detail that wasn’t there.

“It’s a mirrored 4 year medical degree that’s had to be covered in 2 years” No it isn’t. It just is not. That a PA MSc or PgDip is equivalent to an MBChB is just total bollocks. Repeatedly making such nonsense assertions just poisons an already toxic debate. Please stop

**PA body is threatening to sue GP partners because they have instated a scope of practice for PAs** A scope of practice intention is to prevent harm to patients. A reminder: GPs take on ALL clinical supervision & ALL medico-legal responsibility for PA mistakes. Suing your own supervisors for not allowing you to practice medicine when you haven’t studied medicine?! Now that’s something…
The @RCoANews Scope of Practice for AAs is out - but what about those Trusts that don't adhere to it? Are they negligent? We asked an academic lawyer for her opinion. TL;DR; The RCoA means business. anaesthetistsunited.com/new-…

Why the parentified daughter ends up with the avoidant, passive son. This thread will help you understand your relationships:

Interesting how the GMC doesn't have the expertise to set scope. yet does have the expertise to comment on what the experts say. And why is their CEO taking such a personal interest and involvement in this, rather than delegating to the appropriate Director? More expertise?

Antibiotics have far more side effects than vaccines So why are so many people anti vaccine but have no issue with antibiotics? (which by the way are grossly overused)
It’s hard to describe what it feels like to be a GP. Sitting in a room alone, with patients rotating in and out, tackling a never-ending list—there’s no space to breathe. It can be relentless. 🧵

I wanted to follow up to some comments: patients are my ONLY motivation here. I’m an NHS consultant. I am a medically qualified, fully-trained expert in one specialty, and can call a friend who is an expert in any another. My job and income are secure. (1/8)

I wish as many people were as antibiotic sceptical as they were vaccine sceptical. We should be using a LOT less of those.
