You know what's really sad when watching you guys plead or try to talk with the RCMP, hoping, praying for a sliver of compassion, for some to walk. I can't help but remember the lady being trampled, and a group of them laughing about it. Heartbroken our govt has broken the force

CANADIANS ARE CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY It is not the Flu they are worried about - Message from the Fringe Farmers Nov 8th Universal Ostrich Farm As a concerned Canadian citizen, I have a few questions I'd like to ask after the culling of the ostriches at the Universal Ostrich Farm. Based on the assurance of the CFIA, RCMP, and The Supreme Court, that these birds were indeed highly infectious, and were spreading the H5N1 virus... ...will the RCMP officers that served at the farm going to be required to be quarantined and kept out of service for the entire virus shedding cycle? Will they be required to have their throats swabbed and blood samples taken and tested? After all, do we not have images of officers shoveling the hay to repair their roads on a neighboring farm, and picking up and sharing feathers from the hot zone with visitors? What about their uniforms, boots, and personal tools? Will they be disposed of? And if so, how? Incineration? And what about the vehicles and equipment that were used at the farm? After all, from what I understand, they used the same flat deck to deliver their lunches that they did to haul off contaminated hay, did they not? That seems terribly risky. How will everything be decontaminated? And how exactly would that be done? Soap and water? That doesn't seem a likely scenario. It all seems to be a herculean task. Will the taxpayers be footing the bill? Further, what are our rights regarding interaction with the RCMP moving forward? Should we be pulled over for an infraction of some sort, would it be within our rights to lock our doors and keep our windows up and ask for the officer's name and badge number? What about proof that said officer was not at the farm? How will they provide such proof? And if they refuse to provide that proof, or if they were indeed at the farm and have not been quarantined and decontaminated, is it then within our rights to ask for another officer? God forbid, I am in a minor car accident, and asked to get into a contaminated police car while I wait for the ambulance! Honestly, what exactly are our rights as Canadians? And I do wonder, how is it possible that they were able to have RCMP coming and going from the hot zone at the farm, to Vernon hotels and restaurants etc., without first being decontaminated? Perhaps the RCMP and CFIA have antibodies? How do we collect those? After all, isn't that what this is all about? Keeping Canadian citizens safe? @KatiePasitney

As, @missmacycanada1 correctly pointed out, ostriches are a very difficult animal to kill. A clean head shot is the only way in a scenario like this, which is incredibly difficult to achieve from the distance of the two towers the so called 'marksmen' would have been shooting from, especially with terrified and startled birds that would have been moving around. Likely why there are clearly body wounds and even bloody thigh wounds from badly placed shots on many of the birds. I would imagine that after the many hours of shooting stopped, a large number of ostriches would have been squirming on the ground in excruciating pain, and still very much alive. A team would have had to go in and finish them off, some even look as though they may have been decapitated. An insider today told me that other much more humane options were available to CFIA, which would have been recommended and presented to them, such as a captive bolt gun. However, for some reason CFIA chose the most barbaric and inhumane way possible to execute the birds, perhaps to send a message to the farmers that dissent will not be tolerated? That's just an opinion of course.

BREAKING: Yesterday I received a phone call and an e-mail from an industry insider regarding the the slaughter of the 300+ ostriches in BC. The individual was deeply disgusted and sickened by what they had witnessed, and informed me that similar disgust and outrage was being expressed by many others throughout the industry. In the e-mail below the individual, who has asked to remain anonymous at this time, shares their expert insights as to how CFIA appear to have breached their very own 'humane slaughter practices' protocols. MEDIA: The individual is open to speaking to journalists to provide testimony and further more in-depth expert advice and industry insights. There needs to be a full and thorough deep dive and investigation into the CFIA, RCMP, the shooters and any veterinarians who were on site that allowed this atrocity happen. And why the slaughter was executed in this manner, and who authorised it. The insider told me yesterday that Ostriches are a very difficult animal to slaughter, for a multitude of reasons, and that other much more humane options were available to CFIA, which would have been recommended and presented to them, such as a captive bolt gun. However, for some reason CFIA chose the most barbaric and inhumane way possible to execute the birds. The question is, why? @scoopercooper @WoodReporting @DavidKrayden @brianlilley
