The 2-MW Thorium Molten Salt Reactor (TMSR) in northwest China's Gansu Province has successfully achieved the first-ever thorium to uranium nuclear fuel conversion and obtained valid experimental data following thorium fuel loading, making it currently the only operational molten-salt reactor in the world loaded with thorium fuel. This realization marks a milestone in TMSR development and confirms the technical feasibility of thorium utilization in a molten-salt reactor nuclear energy system. The project's ultimate goal is to construct a 100-MW demonstration project and realize its demonstration application by 2035.

The world's first flying car factory began trial production on Monday in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, with the rollout of its first detachable electric aircraft of a modular flying car. The 120,000-square-meter plant, featuring the largest production capacity of any factory of its kind, is designed to produce 10,000 detachable aircraft modules annually, with an initial capacity of 5,000 units, and will be capable of assembling one aircraft every 30 minutes once fully operational.
The crew of China's Shenzhou-20 spacecraft held a handover ceremony with the Shenzhou-21 crew and transferred the keys of the country's space station to the latter on Tuesday. The Shenzhou-20 crew has now completed all planned tasks and will take the Shenzhou-20 spacecraft to return to the Dongfeng landing site in north China's Inner Mongolia on Wednesday, according to the China Manned Space Agency.

How do you raise mice in space? After arriving at China's Tiangong space station with the Shenzhou-21 crew on Saturday, the mission's four mice have shown good adaptation to the microgravity environment, as they maintained a normal diet, activity levels, and behavioral patterns. Living in a device that keeps the internal temperature at 26℃, the two male and two female mice follow the same circadian rhythm as on Earth, with the internal lighting turning on at 7 am and switching off at 7 pm every day. The four mice were chosen after more than 60 days of rigorous training in physical fitness and cognitive ability. They will be part of scientific experiments in space for five to seven days, helping to close a gap in small mammal research aboard China's Tiangong space station. Subsequently, the mice will return to Earth via a spaceship, and further scientific research will be carried out to explore the stress response and adaptive changes of multiple tissues and organs of mice in the space environment.
China's independently developed offshore wind turbine with the world's largest single-unit capacity of 26 MW has been connected to the grid in Dongying, east China's Shandong Province. With a world-leading rotor diameter of over 310 meters, the turbine can generate 100 million kWh of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the demands of 55,000 households a year, equivalent to cutting CO2 emissions by over 80,000 tonnes.

China on Sunday unveiled a full-process robotic breeder, “Xiao Hai,” along with a commercial service platform for rapid wheat breeding in Hefei, east China’s Anhui Province. The AI-powered robotic system serves as a pilot for the platform, which can shorten the wheat breeding cycle from 8-10 years to just 2-3 years through intelligent environmental control.
