His legacy lies not only in the thousands of hours on air, but in the connection he forged with millions of Australians, and the mark he left on broadcasting in this country. Vale John Laws.

John’s career was extraordinary. Beginning in 1953 at Bendigo’s 3BO and later becoming a household name on Sydney stations such as 2UE and 2SM, his distinctive tone earned him the affectionate title “Golden Tonsils”.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of John Laws, a towering figure in Australian radio whose voice resonated across the nation for more than seven decades.
His influence on the Labor Party and Australian politics was considerable, and his legacy will be remembered by many who worked alongside him. Vale Graham Richardson.

The truth of the matter is that this project should have begun a decade ago. And since coming to Government, we've been working hard to deliver what the Liberals couldn't. So by early 2027, there'll be 100 more public preschools right across NSW.

Because of Elouise and Danny’s courage and persistence, we were able to pass Joe’s Law earlier this year - ensuring that no future government can repeat the mistakes that led to the Northern Beaches Hospital privatisation.
want to pay special recognition to Elouise and Danny Massa, the parents of two-year-old Joe Massa who died at the hospital late last year. They've been tireless advocates for the facility being brought into public hands - as it should have always been.
True to our word, we're returning Northern Beaches Hospital to public ownership and out of private hands - for good. The privatisation of Northern Beaches Hospital was one of the worst decisions made by any Government in NSW - it should have never even been a consideration.
We're working hard to deliver the best possible health outcomes for everyone in NSW, and now the people of the Northern Beaches can rest easy knowing they'll have that same guarantee, too.

And we've done in a matter of months what would have otherwise taken years – undoing one of the most complex privatisation arrangements in the state’s history.

It's a solid agreement that delivers what the Northern Beaches community has been calling for – a publicly run hospital that puts patients before profit.
