Here are the details on my 1st V14.1.4 drive:
I pulled the car out of the garage, rinsed off the road grime and dust from yesterday and backed it up like it had just pulled out of the garage. I put the local Ace Hardware in as a destination and engaged FSD. Instead of hesitantly making a 4-5 point turn with multiple accelerator taps of encouragement to turn right and head down the driveway like V13 would do it took one wide right turn and just drove out with the left wheel fully off the driveway and in the lawn before steering back into the driveway as it approached the street. Not dangerous and speed was reasonable but not good for the lawn and I wouldn’t want it doing that after a good rain.
It pulled out fine and made the first turn and at the 2nd one it did the brake taps others have complained about.
It repeated the brake taps at the next intersection before completing the remainder of the drive well and pulling into an empty spot perfectly where V13 always picked the handicap spot or straddled a line between two spots. I picked this location because it always messed up parking here on V13 and it parked here perfectly without any hesitation or issues.
On the way back it backed out of the parking spot, paused for someone exiting the store and then was very reluctant to pull out into traffic across two lanes and turn left and get immediately into the left turn lane. I hit the accelerator and it took the 3rd gap and it did Fine until it repeated the brake taps again at a stop sign on the way home.
Then just like V13 it did not recognize my curb-less, down hill driveway when approaching it and I took over by turning right into it with red lines flashing and a take over immediately departing roadway warning. Once it quit complaining about the loose nut behind the wheel driving off the road, as we approached the garage and I opened the garage door it recognized the other car parked in the garage on the visualization (that’s new) but it still didn’t recognize the garage as a parking spot and I had to back it in manually. The 240v plug is on the back wall so I need to back in to charge.
All and all it shows promise but needs some more work to smooth out some things.
