Government is the most effective system ever developed for spending money and minimizing the improvements in standard of living as a result of that spending.

Sounds like @CharlesSchwab needs to find a new Interim Head of Investment Stewardship as well as change their proxy vote before the @Tesla board meting if if they don’t want to lose a lot of clients this month.
Today I discovered that Schwab’s Head of Investment Stewardship spent 10+ years at Glass Lewis before joining @CharlesSchwab. When Glass Lewis recommendations conflict with shareholder value (like voting against Tesla’s extremely successful board), how does Schwab ensure independent judgment in proxy votes?

Now that V14.1.4 will pull out of the garage and drive down the driveway but cuts the corner and goes over the grass, maybe I’ll let it keep doing so until the path it takes over the grass is clearly visible and then rip the grass out, dig down a little and poor a new slab of concrete so that it stays on the driveway and out of the yard.

My new tag line is “What we need is Minimum Viable Government!” Do you have issues with bloated government and its inability to solve social issues? MVG is the answer!

It’s worse than putting money in a furnace, if government simply burned the money they take from us it would reduce the money supply and drive deflation. What they do is they create a whole bunch of government jobs and government contractor jobs that tie up a a lot of people’s time that would otherwise would be in the private sector doing things that add value. Instead a lot of people are getting paid a lot of money to generate records and either make overpriced stuff for the government or perpetuate government dependency in some targeted portion of the population. On top of that they create whole industries like the “tax preparation services industry” filled with accounts and lawyers just so that people and companies can figure out how to minimize their taxes without going to jail. People wouldn’t work these government and government funded jobs unless they paid more than a private sector alternative and the opportunity costs to society of allocating these people’s time to these jobs is staggering. On top of the gross misallocation of labor the politicians fund these bloated programs with deficit spending and money printing driving inflation. This is all parasitic drag on the economy. The less the government spends and regulates the better off we all are. What we need is Minimum Viable Government!

I had to put a long sleeve flannel shirt on today because it was too cool for a tee shirt in the house! I love it when the temperature range for the day is between 55 and 65F!

When coming home from the west it turns right into driveway without hesitation and drives all the way down past the chicane and up to the garage and stops, it still won’t park in the side entry garage but this is outstanding! Also Mad Max mode is fun zipped through a Gauntlet of a F350, a 3500 and a Titan XD on the way home.
Here are the details on my 1st V14.1.4 drive: I pulled the car out of the garage, rinsed off the road grime and dust from yesterday and backed it up like it had just pulled out of the garage. I put the local Ace Hardware in as a destination and engaged FSD. Instead of hesitantly making a 4-5 point turn with multiple accelerator taps of encouragement to turn right and head down the driveway like V13 would do it took one wide right turn and just drove out with the left wheel fully off the driveway and in the lawn before steering back into the driveway as it approached the street. Not dangerous and speed was reasonable but not good for the lawn and I wouldn’t want it doing that after a good rain. It pulled out fine and made the first turn and at the 2nd one it did the brake taps others have complained about. It repeated the brake taps at the next intersection before completing the remainder of the drive well and pulling into an empty spot perfectly where V13 always picked the handicap spot or straddled a line between two spots. I picked this location because it always messed up parking here on V13 and it parked here perfectly without any hesitation or issues. On the way back it backed out of the parking spot, paused for someone exiting the store and then was very reluctant to pull out into traffic across two lanes and turn left and get immediately into the left turn lane. I hit the accelerator and it took the 3rd gap and it did Fine until it repeated the brake taps again at a stop sign on the way home. Then just like V13 it did not recognize my curb-less, down hill driveway when approaching it and I took over by turning right into it with red lines flashing and a take over immediately departing roadway warning. Once it quit complaining about the loose nut behind the wheel driving off the road, as we approached the garage and I opened the garage door it recognized the other car parked in the garage on the visualization (that’s new) but it still didn’t recognize the garage as a parking spot and I had to back it in manually. The 240v plug is on the back wall so I need to back in to charge. All and all it shows promise but needs some more work to smooth out some things.

So after spending 7 hrs driving it today I’m thinking I’ll give it a wash and take 14.1.4 for a spin in the morning.
I get back from a road trip and bam.
