This is what happens when you get someone in this position that understands military needs, the war fighter, and global security. Also, when you place someone in this position who has been “making friends” with people as they ranked up with them, and feel like those friends deserve more protection than the troops or the nation, it becomes a problem. Instead, you have someone over the war dept who doesn’t simply see this as the last stop before retirement, and wants to build a military he will actually have to depend on for another 40-50 years. A five star retirement age General is the absolute worst type to appoint to this position. Pete was a fantastic choice.
