RIP Lee Tamahori. Man, I’ll never forget seeing ONCE WERE WARRIORS for the first time. Also have a soft spot for MULHOLLAND FALLS, which I revisited recently, and THE EDGE, of course.
At times, Frankenstein looked, sounded, and felt like a Tim Burton film, I'm old and awful indeed...

Ridley Scott’s first feature film came in 1977 when he released The Duellists. So many of you have messaged me & recommended that I watch this film. You guys were right - this is a great movie with some unreal sword fighting scenes. Early signs of Scott’s genius are everywhere.

Anti-oligarchy populists tend to do well in elections IF they have enough resources to compete. Most anti-oligarch candidates don’t have enough resources to compete because oligarchs fund campaigns. Zohran was able to compete because of public financing. Pass it on.
