Always give your opponent respect (even though you think they are an idiot)! You wanna crush them but you should also always expect them to play the best move! No hope chess.
The reason Magnus plays the Dutch sometimes is because "hope chess" works.
"Hope chess" means the opponent is a person, not a computer. People make mistakes.
If the second-best move causes mistakes far more frequently than the best move, play it.
Agree with this in general, but sometimes it's worthwhile when you're completely lost to at least give your opponent a chance to blunder before you resign. The worst that can happen is that they don't fall for your trap, in which case you're no worse off than you started.
I remember seeing a video recently, where the "no hope chess" wasn't fully being appreciated. (something with 100-300 in the title in case you didn't catch on...)
I watched your first speed run video on YouTube. You were not holding back your thoughts on how they were playing and I loved every second of it 😂
I do wish you started at a higher elo tho, but I understand your reasoning.
Lady, you can disrespect me all you want to if we ever should play chess! I bet you can make it as fun as Hikaru does in his disrespect speed run.
Seems if I'm playing a game I should have a little fun sometime...
