Can’t believe I saw a prominent MO TO say the situation regarding Deathspade “isn’t that deep” and said people shouldn’t criticize or comment on their ban duration because they aren’t TOs/it won’t change anything. Bro no one was going to Jeff city before that and def won’t now.
I’m glad that our scene is coming together and I hope that people can heal. At the end of the day, we are the reason we come out to events. We enjoy playing a game we love, with the people that we are ever so fortunate to call friends.
Even in a TO position, it felt like DS had so much power over me as a player that wasn’t as good as him. I felt like I couldn’t say anything against him or even criticize his behavior towards me, what I’ve seen towards others, or his behavior online.
While I’ve known KC has always had my back, it’s tough to say that you enjoy coming to events when, at the time, the face of our scene makes it that you can’t stomach being at an event let alone try to be happy and compete at the same time.
I’ve had lots of people beg me to come back to locals and it’s been so difficult to come up with an excuse bc I was too afraid to just tell the truth. DS just made the community weird for me, given what I perceived as over flirtyness and top player privilege.
It’s honestly so disheartening hearing all of experiences people have had with Deathspade. While I won’t be putting out a statement (personal/professional reasons), it’s a burden off my chest to say that I was uncomfortable going to locals partially due to them being there.
but what if this grand slam was edible?
