As a Lithuanian I remember when we laughed at Polish roads. Like how they can be so shitty? Then they fixed their shit and laughed at our even more shitty roads. So we fixed ours and now we are strong! 😀

Speed limits don't seem to matter, at least not on highways.

yeah fuck you @EU_Commission you made a system where it's impossible to drive like a human being. driving in poland has become insanely annoying lately. I’m really curious how much slower we communicate now and how many billions in gdp we’re collectively losing every year because of it. example of eu nonsense: I just got my driving license suspended because they made it illegal to go over 50km/h (31 mp/h) on this highway.

Big applause for Poland. We've made enormous progress in recent years. New roads and rigorous law enforcement have saved thousands of lives. We must continue this. Tightening the law is especially important. In Poland, a driver's license will be permanently suspended for… .

Estonia 🇪🇪 +33% is easy to explain. In 2019, three deaths, and in 2024 four.

Poland and Lithuania - huge investment in the road infrastracture+new, strict regulations. Do we see the effects?

Let's bring the full picture. It is continuously getting better because of: - people have better cars from generation to generation - we have better roads - there is a better driving culture There is no reason for a change between 2019-2024, because the trend started in 1998.

you could improve it even further by getting the regulations done for autonomous driving. We wait year after year for it to come, whilest other countries are already driving autonomous e.g. USA, China, Puerto Rico, Australia, Mexiko, Canada, and more to come. What is the hold up? Tech is ready but bureaucracy isn't.

it means that top10 countries had before a lot of road deaths, so it was easy to get -30% with some regulations
