Don’t listen to this. People will think about you every day when you are gone — sometimes several times a day — they will feel guilty for smiling and ashamed to have fun again without you. They will cry for hours on end over your absence — the grief of your loss will be difficult

This is pure bullshit. My father died 12 years ago I think about him almost everyday. I talk to my family about him to my siblings and mother. I teach my children about him and who he was. If you are a good person/selfless person who cared for and loves their family they will never "forget" you you live on through them.

My husband died in May. I miss him day by day. Perhaps it will wear off but generalising like that does not include everyone.

That’s sad. Seems the author of this never really loved someone enough to feel the weight of grief, for years or a lifetime.

This was put too simplistically. Your wife, mother, children, siblings….whoever you left behind do continue their jobs but not without the thought of you. They don’t have you to call and vent to anymore. They don’t have you to escape to anymore. They all miss you.

This is nonsense that feeds those which want mental justification for being a self centred narcissist. The type of people who adopt these words are the type of people that WANT those close to them to cry forever when they die. Good people want their loved ones to laugh at a comedy show as soon as possible after they die. Message of this video: “be a self centred narcissist because people will get on with to their lives eventually after you die, HOW DARE THEY! The world should stop forever when I die!”

So not true. The person that made this clearly never lost somebody very close to their heart or is just an emotionless being

This is terrible advice. Have you never lost anyone you love? I have, and believe me, even though life keeps going, the ache for the ones you’ve lost remains with you forever. Living for yourself will guarantee that no one will mourn you & that you’ll quickly be forgotten.

The opposite is true. Genuine happiness and enduring memories are found the far side of service to others and self-sacrifice.

I’m sorry but my mother died almost a decade ago and I still think of her. My grandmother died almost 3 decades ago and I still think of her. If my husband dies I’m gonna be crying while watching a comedy a year matter because it reminded me of him and I wish he was watching it with me. Yes live for yourself, but live for your loved ones too,

I cant. I have dreams of my sister almost every night for the last 10 months after she was murdered. I have been raising my kids for 10 years, their mom literally left them. Sometimes there is NO SELF. I don’t want to date. I don’t care for wealth or self happiness.

This could not be further from the truth. I can’t remember the first four months after my husband died, and I’ve never remarried after 17 years. Your people don’t forget you. The rest of the world might, but your people never forget.

We are energy. And energy never dies. You never die. My Mom has visited me. Said my name out loud on my birthday. Love is about each other. Not of one’s self only. What you believe you receive. 🙏💗

Lost a great family friend years ago and my childhood best mate lost his mum, still think about them both constantly. My world got a little darker those days. They were wonderful.
