Taking a swipe at the white gamer bros who support the Republican party is an interesting choice. But, while we're here, Medicaid is intened for people who CAN'T AFFORD PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE. What you do, or don't do, SHOULDN'T MATTER when it comes to getting health care.
Mike Johnson says Medicaid is "intended for vulnerable populations, the elderly, disabled, and young pregnant women, and not young able-bodied men without dependents who are playing video games."

They want every state to be like TX where an adult who is not disabled,or poor& elderly or poor & pregnant &with minor kids (& even then the parents don’t always get Medicaid!) CAN NOT GET MEDICAID!! They are dependent on county health programs &many of those have waiting lists

Why are these dudes ALWAYS so mad/WRONG about video games? I note there are innumerable other activities able-bodied young men without dependents engage in that would all be FAR more harmful (than playing video games, FFS).

The disinfo sleight of hand from this summer which went mostly unchallenged, as far as I saw, was characterizing Medicaid as some kind of cash welfare. Even if you do nothing but, as my grandma used to say, eat sleep and shit, you should not be barred from heathcare.

Medicaid is for people who need it, without it they have no health care. What don’t republicans understand about this? A big majority of these folks are republicans. Probably won’t be after this fiasco.

What's this wagon that the Speaker of the House speaks of here? What World is the non bank account holding freak of man speaking of and does his wagon contain cash or just young boys?

It’s not like the gamers are getting checks to support their lifestyle. That’s a vignette made up by the con men in the GOP to anger people. The idea of someone getting something for nothing usually works to rouse people; especially if they can’t afford health care on their wages

So, repeal Obamacare and bring back affordability.

We need Medicare 4 all/Universal healthcare. Improve Medicare payments. Everyone is covered. Tax/monthly premiums avg. $400/month per household. That would raise $6 trillion annually. The US spends about $5 trillion for healthcare. Medical insurance made $71 billion last year.

And the 25 year old guy playing video games goes to the doctor how often? Medicaid isn't spending money until people use healthcare.

What you do certainly matters when you want others to pay for it. You don't get to do whatever you want then take from others families.

I just read that many older women play video games... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also, notice how they never say how many, if any, of Medicaid recipients are their so-called "young able-bodied men without dependents who are playing video games", maybe because the very notion is a dog whistle and doesn't actually exist, like the "welfare mom"

Ahh...I see where you're confused. You think they see people when, in fact, they see assets. Non-workers shouldn't exist in their minds. They barely tolerate the disable and/or elderly.

Playing video games and playing video games while defrauding disability are two very different things. I'm not surprised you are incapable of understanding that.

I'm not American, so correct me if I'm wrong, but did he say it's law that only the vulnerable etc are entitled to medicaid? Surely then, if people are getting it who are NOT entitled, isn't that a failure of the government for not enforcing the law???

Mike Johnson is talking out his backside as if he really bothered to know who are the majority on Medicaid.. so they will take it from those who need it because Mikes family had issues with video games..it sounds like.

Medicaid is designed to provide Healthcare for those that fall below the poverty line! But why do Americans working 40 hours plus a week still fall below the poverty line? Because Republicans have kept wages stagnant for decades while the cost of living continues to Skyrocket!
