Listening to this, one gets the sense the panel thinks that the Holt government is running short on new ideas, despite only being a year into a mandate. Shift - NB with Vanessa Vander Valk: Political Panel: Legislature Starts cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-8…
There does seem to be an asymmetry here:

Women can sue their bosses for running a workplace that feels like a fraternity house, but men can’t sue when their workplace feels like a Montessori kindergarten. compactmag.com/article/the-g…
And rebuttal:
A recent essay, “The Great Feminization,” posits that the growing influence of women is harming U.S. institutions. Sophie Gilbert argues that the real problem facing American culture is quite different: theatln.tc/qtFs7HMF

Look - there were all sorts of serious problems when our institutions were entirely male dominated, and it’s very good that they have been diversified. But the feminization (partial or wholesale) of the institutions can result in the toxic femininity of wokeness.
“Regardless of party or ideology, men are so much more tolerant than women that the gender tolerance gap dominates the ideology difference.”

Guess I’m a Dipper now… Bunch of people in NB called Higgs a fascist for proposing this when he was Premier. Foes that make Kinew a fascist?
If governments don’t act decisively on the drug crisis devastating our streets, more lives will be lost and community safety will plummet. I’m encouraged to see Premier Wab Kinew @WabKinew recognize that compassion must mean action and join the effort to save lives through real intervention.

Just overheard a conversation between patrons outside one of the sketchy bars on Union Street. Why would someone want to buy a single billiards ball? Aren’t they usually sold in a set?
This is a huge loss to the party.

… for an industrial park means you have to tolerate your neighbours giving you hell at the grocery store every week. Normies will tend to avoid participating in this, which means governance will fall increasingly to ideologues and people who have no interest in compromise.
Human society exists in the equilibrium between the forces bringing us together and the forces driving us apart. At present, the forces driving us apart are ascendant. Social media amplifies extremes, and the middle decides to go quiet. Approving a zoning application…
Canadian Conservatives - have our politics become so acrimonious and contrarian that we can no longer govern our own political parties? No one should trust us to govern anything unless we can get our own sh!t in a pile. This is not the path to victory.

I saw the title of this article I thought “I wonder if this is @laura_tee_mdgi?” It is.

Decolonialism convinces the downtrodden that their problems are a result of decisions made by empires hundreds of years ago, instead of the decisions they make everyday. Only one of those sets of decisions is changeable.
In my piece, Decolonial Delusion I argue that Third-worldism is one of the most dangerous ideologies of the 21st century "From the safety of Paris or Toronto, they denounce repression they do not endure & romanticize regimes their families once fled." zinebriboua.com/p/the-decolo…

Great discussion of Thomas Sowell’s “A Conflict of Vision”, wherein he compares the “restrained view” and the “unrestrained view” of politics. This distinction seems to explain much of the difference between conservative and progressive thinking. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcas…
The bad news - the Democrat who fantasized in a text about killing one of his political opponents won the Virginia AG race. The good news - maybe this result says something about how unpopular a Trump is? Going to be difficult for the State to prosecute death threat cases now.
Big fan of Nikki, and I will definitely tune in and watch, but I’m not sure this level of Botox is conducive to the craft? Audience needs facial expression to help give context to the material.
Nikki Glaser and the cast are already having fun!
Now we get to see the experiment of whether the circumstances of life in New York City will be improved by a greater commitment to the principles of democratic socialism. I’m not optimistic.
