Just In: Travellers Stranded as T+rrorists Launch Att+ck on Eruku–Egbe Road in Kwara — Sahara Reporters
T+rrorists reportedly launched an att+ck on travellers along the Eruku–Egbe road in the Eruku area of Ekiti Local Government, Kwara State, on Monday, forcing vehicles to a halt.
According to footage obtained by SaharaReporters, several buses and trucks were seen parked by the roadside as commuters fled into nearby bushes for safety.
An eyewitness confirmed that the att+ckers were still active in the area as of Monday afternoon, advising motorists to avoid the route until security operatives restore order.
This latest incident comes after g¥nmen att+cked a commercial bus on Sunday along the Ayere–Kabba road in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, k+lling one passenger and inj¥ring several others.
The att+ck reportedly occurred around 5pm when armed men ambushed travellers on the busy road. While some vehicles escaped, many passengers were shot.
“One person was confirmed d+ad at the general hospital, while others are being treated for g¥nshot wo¥nds,” a source said.
Residents say the Ayere–Kabba and Eruku–Egbe corridors have increasingly become hotspots for armed att+cks, with gangs believed to be operating between Kogi and Kwara States.
