Pamela Paul just responded to my criticism of her NYT trans article directly, with no facts. She claims it takes "courage to admit you don't know" detransition rates are (single digits), but in her original article... she falsely says 80%, citing decades old out of date data.

The 80% was about children recovering from gender disphoria and not going on to transition that they found in the past. She wasn't saying it was the same as detransition. There is no reliable data on more recent cohorts so what she says is true at this time.

In the same paragraph, she leads readers to believe that research shows it is high, both desistance AND detransition.
Replying to @bradleydbrownmd
There is no evidence of 80% desistance OR detransition rates. Those are obviously and extremely exaggerated for reasons I outline in my article. Also, in the same paragraph, she talks about detransition (stopping filling hormones).

I of course respond to that and debunk it here (Both her desistance AND detransition number)
