All of Rip City is deeply saddened to hear of Lenny Wilkens passing. Lenny was an incredible person on and off the court, and his impact on the game of basketball will be felt for generations. A Pacific Northwest legend, his two seasons in Portland, as player-coach and then head coach during the early years of Blazer basketball, helped grow the game of basketball in Rip City while his work off the court inspired many. We join the basketball community in mourning the loss of a legend of the game. 🔗: nba.com/blazers/news/portlan…

Ransom x Conductor THIS MONTH!!
Meant a lot to me growing up to see a blk man in his position so well respected by EVERYONE the way he was. The way he spoke and carried himself was inspiring. An Icon. 💯
If you look up the term "class act" there's a picture of Lenny Wilkens smiling. Among many other accolades he was a player-coach for the Seattle SuperSonics from 1969 to 1972. Read that again. SIMULTANEOUSLY. That will never not amaze me. Rest in power triple OG. 🙏🏾🕊

RIP Lenny Wilkens. The epitome of Smooth. He should have played in a tuxedo.

To talk with Lenny Wilkens about basketball was to sit in on Ph.D-level discourse, and to revel in his story telling. His Cavs teams were beautiful to watch. And he was, in making the Hall of Fame as a player and a coach, walking history. And a good man. RIP to the legend.
