UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Liam Neeson travels to South Sudan to meet children in a country under threat from global funding cuts. Learn more. ⬇️ unicef.link/4hpaOUA

Thank you Liam Neeson for continuing to raise your powerful voice for children around the world, including South Sudan. As funding cuts threaten children's rights to nutrition, education and safety, we call on decision-makers to prioritize investments for children.👇
“The world cannot turn its back on children like those I met in South Sudan.” During his recent visit to South Sudan, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Liam Neeson met children whose lives have been impacted by climate change, poverty, and insecurity. He witnessed how communities are working tirelessly to support children and how UNICEF, donors and partners are providing life-saving services: For children like Augustino, a 14-month-old whose mother receives cash transfers to help care for him. Like Eliana, 3 months, who was vaccinated against polio. Like Lual, 7 months, who is being treated for severe acute malnutrition. But in South Sudan and around the world, global funding cuts are threatening these life-saving programmes. UNICEF will continue to stay and deliver for children, but we need decision-makers across the world to invest urgently in children's rights and well-being.

I met a young mother, Goodnews, and her 3-month-old baby girl, Ashley, at a health clinic in Durban. “Here at the clinic, I was given information that helps me protect my health and my child’s future,” said Goodnews. Strong primary health care transforms futures.

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there lived a silent creature... This #WorldPolioDay, we are shedding a light on how polio is almost defeated, but we need to come together to end it for once, and for all.
Eradicating polio is about justice & fairness. With governments, partners & communities, we can close the final gaps & make polio history. The new @UNICEF brief calls for stronger health care, sustainable financing &collective action to #endpolio bit.ly/4hkiJm4
