Not really. the journalist asked a question with a million caveats designed to stoke online culture war, Sweeney designed to answer. It was the smart move and says nothing about anyone's politics.

You're missing the point. Sweeneys answer was great because it rejected the framing. So many conservatives get caught up trying to prove their innocence to leftists.
