NHC now forecasts #MELISSA to become the 3rd Category 5 hurricane of the season. This may very well be the strongest hurricane to make landfall in Jamaica in 200+ years.

ANOTHER "worst hurricane in 200 years" Seems like only 9 years ago (because it was) and Hurricane Mathew that Sheppard Smith said "you and everyone you know will die" Not minimizing the 12 who died, but that was hardly "EVERYONE will die"

This refers to Jamaican landfalls (MATTHEW 2016 did not make landfall in Jamaica). GILBERT 1988 is the island’s strongest storm, at 130 mph. MELISSA will most likely surpass this mark for the first time in our database (174 years).
