The Vlad-bots have been on me for two weeks. So let's meet the accusations head on:
Explaining that a language nuance is easy to miss for a Russian speaker, is not racism.
I am certainly against the invasion of Ukraine. And I don't think Russia should participate in international sports, as long as it is waging an unprovoked war of conquest. (Israel-Palestine is much more complex, as is many other international conflicts, to warrant the highest sanctions in sports). If nothing else, I find it intolerable to routinely get threatened with nuclear annihilation.
When I say it is idiotic to compare looking at move 5-10 in a game, while playing move 40, with someone playing the moves suggested by Stockfish, I am not calling the person "an idiot". It is the argument that is idiotic.
For a non-native speaker, failing to understand the difference is natural. For someone equal or above in technical competency (which Kramnik certainly has, should the Vlad-bot be him) and at the same time making such a statement, is idiotic.
Either you don't know what you are talking about, or you think I don't know what I am talking about. Either is stupid. But it does not transfer to all other areas.
There is no mob going after this anonymous Vlad-bot, of course. Enough with the self-pity. But many of us can recognise the Vlad-bot narrative of ridiculous statements and declaration of "victory" and explosions of anger.
