Today, I’m thinking of Lewiston, Maine, where two years ago, a night of bowling, corn hole, and catching up with neighbors turned deadly because a dangerous person had a gun. Eighteen people were killed, 13 others were wounded, and an entire community was irrevocably changed.
Maine has made progress, but there’s more to do. Leaders must act decisively to protect communities and honor the victims, survivors, and their families.
Two years ago today, 18 people were killed in a shooting rampage at a local bowling alley and restaurant in Lewiston, Maine. Thirteen others were injured in the attacks.
Today and always, our hearts are with the victims, survivors, their families, and the entire Lewiston community.
