It remains utterly fucking disgusting that the government has totally erased the fact that she was murdered for being trans, and has instead abused her memory by using her as a prop to push online censorship and banning phones in schools
It was Brianna's birthday yesterday. Her 19th birthday. The UK government decided to honour her memory earlier this year by declaring that trans girls like her should be forced to share single sex facilities with murderous male transphobes like Eddie Ratcliffe.

“Brutalism’s superficial triumph betrayed what made it aesthetically interesting: by stripping it of its political and social contexts, these images flattened the movement into an abstracted array of iconic buildings and a few great (Alison notwithstanding) men.”

It’s a deeply disappointing document. 1. No commitment to removing ‘Appendix B’ - a benchmark for inaction affecting over a 1,000 stations across the UK. 2. It bakes in the same glacial rate of step-free improvements endured under the Tory Gov’t. julianvaughan.blog/2024/11/1…

The full interview is weirdly fascinating, in that Reed accurately diagnoses problems with the housing market and more or less admits that government solutions are insufficient, and then derides Green policies that actually address the scale of the crisis 🤷🏼‍♂️

👀 Look what we've stumbled upon, it's the old ScotRail uniform. Bonus points for anyone who can name the fleet. ^Ste

In southern Lebanon we see quite clearly the Israeli-US playbook for the future of Gaza and elsewhere: genocidal destruction of entire towns or cities, and no reconstruction for the survivors -enforced by literally blowing up construction vehicles if needed.
An Israeli drone dropped explosives on an excavator in the border town of Blida, south Lebanon.

Car brand BYD's new SUV ad pokes fun at people walking and cycling, comparing them to Horse & Carts. It joins a long list of car ads that sell a false promise of convenience and aspiration while punching down at sustainable transport modes. So I made it a bit more realistic...
The prospectus trends can be measured too, to make sure that once in government, we're going in the right direction. Let's say "The right to public transport" The best example of this is modal share metric (as championed by @GarethDennis) The use of car/train/bus as %

As a train driver I have the recurring, but thankfully only occasional dream that I can’t stop my train. Speaking to colleagues, I’m certainly not alone in this. Do people from other jobs have these recurring work related dreams?

So this is a de-facto ban on protest, then. Who needs Reform when you've got this Labour government legislating for them?
🚨 BREAKING: The government has tabled their plan to restrict repeat protests. Demonstrations could now banned based on the 'cumulative disruption' that previous protests have caused in the area - regardless of if they have been organised by the same people or not.

The 'Accessibility Roadmap' was finally released this week, accompanying the Railways Bill. It was supposed to be a long-term plan with timescales to full rail accessibility, as demanded by the @TransportCttee. Instead, the Roadmap: ◾️ Includes just minor commitments until 2027 ◾️ Vastly insufficient investment ◾️ No mention of equality law / right to TUAG ◾️ No commitments on staffing levels There are also some serious threats in the Roadmap, suggesting more destaffing and ticket office cuts: ◾️Major focus on pre-booking technologies such as 'Welcome Points' and Passenger Assist. ◾️ Rail Delivery Group will remain in charge of developing these technologies - an unregulated private org not subject to equality or consultation duties. Overall, the Roadmap was not a serious document to release on the same day as the most important rail legislation in decades. It only shows the complete lack of ambition for Great British Railways. cc: @Heidi_Labour @LordPeterHendy gov.uk/government/publicatio…
