Britain can't afford nuclear weapons. And we would never use them anyway without US permission. So there's little or no point in having them. Far easier for Polanski (and indeed others) to say that, than stumble into these easy critiques....

I am loving two things about the Greens… 1 - with a completely straight face, they’ve not yet articulated a single green/environmental policy 2 - we’ve all said for ages that everything is so serious and yet again with a completely straight face, they are bringing comedy back to politics.
