Now let's compare to Singapore Average cost to deliver a baby in a hospital: 1200.00 to 4000 Average cost to treat cancer: 100K The problem is the system we have. Fix it. The USA spends 18% of GDP on HC. Singapore spends <6%.

If healthcare was completely privatized without government interference. Average cost to deliver a baby $1,500 Average cost to treat cancer $10,000

Government should have nothing to do with healthcare. Put it back on employers. They either provide it or they give employees a stipend to pay for insurance of their choice. If the government provides employees with health insurance, the same should be true of private employers. No taxpayer subsidies. We're BROKE. We can't afford it.

Or just buy your own insurance because it’s not my job to pay for yours with higher premiums and higher taxes. I’m paying for your insurance twice over.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
a birthing center will do it for $1200; a midwife will do it for $600. That takes care of 98% of births the rest is due to Regulatory Capture. Same for cancer tx.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
That's the subsidy. People still use their own money to pay the rest of the premium for the ACA, as they would under the new plan, except they could pick the coverage they need. Power to the people, not the insurance companies!
You are so stupid. Its called a free market. We had it before. It is way cheaper and it covers more. When things aren't federally mandated insurance companies have to make their products attractive for people to buy. I had full coverage insurance with a 25$ copay and 25$ for prescriptions. $ 285.00 per month and I got to pick my doctor. No bullshit

Why do you keep perpetuating a system that doesn’t benefit patients & keeps driving costs up? You really think giving more money to insurance companies will lower costs? Has this been the case?
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
That’s not what the President said. He’s right in that it doesn’t go directly to the insurance companies. It’s interesting how people inject their emotions into what he says. When the plan that wants people to suffer, is the ACA.

A smart person would ask why the charge master costs of care are so high. An even smarter person would ask why we’re not trying to reduce those costs instead of demanding more insurance coverage.

What has changed so much to be able to overcharge at this level of price for same servics.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
The costs will not be that high if we cut out bloated administration and shareholder profits.

"Don't get sick and if I do die make it quick?" That's been my plan my whole life.

Reading issues? He clearly says buy insurance with it.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
stop giving the health industry infinite money out of the tax payers pocket
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
You ever wonder why it costs so much for those things?

What plan is he referring to, re: “their own, much better, healthcare”?

Were people not allowed to have insurance before the ACA?
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
If they can get away with playing the game then they will. You provide them free money with Obamacare, they ask for more and it keeps coming. They raise prices, we give them more and they take more. Not good.

Free market would drive costs down massively. And nobody is saying you can’t have catastrophic insurance.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
Wow the bots are out in full force. 🤣.

Put money in HSA to cover routine stuff. Get insurance to cover big stuff. If insurance doesn’t pay for routine stuff, and most people don’t have catastrophic in a year, premiums should go down. They are ridiculous now because of all the things ACA requires them to cover.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
Read that statement and tell me you think those prices are really ok
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
Considering the advancements in cancer treatment using AI, your point is mute and the cost is benign.

Well, the idea of giving the subsidy directly to the citizen is that you would have health insurance since (according to your own stats) it is greater than the ACA subsidy. If you have insurance, the other two expenses would be covered. You know that but are pretending otherwise
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
No, his plan is to bring costs down.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
It’s to buy the health insurance of your choice. Increase competition- lower prices.
Replying to @GunnelsWarren
We should have universal Healthcare like Canada so the government helps you die quickly.
