Today, I launched the Primary School Survey, the largest ever survey of primary school and pre-school parents. This will assess parental demand for different types of primary school provision.
Our young people are Ireland’s future. #Budget2026 provides an additional €8million in current & capital funding for youth services, ensuring sustainability & growth across the country. Fine Gael is supporting families, empowering young people, & building stronger communities.
#Budget2026 increases capitation rates for all schools, ensuring principals can meet rising costs and maintain quality education. We’re also continuing to modernise how students learn and are assessed through the Senior Cycle Redevelopment and Primary Curriculum Framework.
Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Through DEIS Plus & a new DEIS Plan, Fine Gael is targeting supports where they’re needed most - tackling disadvantage and improving outcomes in our most challenged communities. #budget2026
#Budget2026 continues Fine Gael’s commitment to inclusion & equality in education. At a time of economic uncertainty, we are prioritising those who need our support the most, ensuring every child can learn, thrive & reach their full potential.

I want us to have a nationwide conversation around education. I am establishing a National Convention on Education & want to hear from students, teachers, school staff, the public, and other stakeholders about what they want to see our eduction system look like into the future.

Fine Gael is committed to improving services for children with disabilities and additional educational needs. That’s why, starting this September, 45 special schools will offer education therapy services for those who need it most. No child should be left behind.
