The best way to support Israel while being 100% America First is for Israel to be sovereign and to call for an end to all US aid to Israel. A country with financial handcuffs cannot make decisions to preserve itself and ensure its survival if their funding is dependent on taking orders. A sovereign Israel that never takes aid from the US can respond to its hostile Islamic neighbors anyway it sees fit. The beauty of that is that it’s no longer going to be America’s concern. When we eventually cut off all aid to Israel, we will also be able to get rid of our military base in Qatar because we need to make sure we are very America First and we can’t be making deals with the Muslim Brotherhood. By encouraging Israel to be independent of US aid, we help ensure Israel is not destroyed by hostile Islamic nations who want to convince the US that Islam is capable of coexisting. We also get to eliminate all scapegoats of foreign interference in the US. Since we are ending aid to Israel, there won’t be a need for @AIPAC anymore, which means us Americans will need to find a new boogeyman to blame for all of our domestic issues and failures. If you truly believe Israel has a right to exist, you should call for all US aid for Israel to end. We are $38 trillion in debt and we can’t claim to be America First while dictating to Israel if they can enter GAZA or bomb Iran. No more money. No more babysitting. It’s going to be amazing. I hope more people will travel to Israel and the Syrian border like I did this week so they can experience the same revelation I just had in the Holy Land. I had such an amazing week, and now I feel such a commitment to advocating for all aid to Israel to be cut off. In the end, everyone is going to be thrilled. No more aid to Israel and then Israel gets to determine its destiny and the US no longer will be allowed to tell Israel what to do, because we are AMERICA FIRST. And now Israel gets to be Israel First. Israel will no longer need to answer to the world, and the US will no longer need to play mediator. We all win in the end.

🇮🇶 Iraqi prisoner of war comforting his 4-year-old son in Najaf, Iraq, March 31, 2003. The photo won the Pulitzer Prize..... The photograph captures an Iraqi prisoner of war sitting on the ground, his head covered by a black hood, gently placing his hand over his child’s eyes. The boy, barefoot and frightened, sits against his father’s lap amid coils of barbed wire. Taken in Najaf during the early days of the Iraq War, it distills the human cost of conflict more powerfully than any statistic could. In March 2003, U.S. forces advanced into Iraq under the premise of dismantling weapons of mass destruction. Towns like Najaf became battle zones as both sides endured heavy casualties. For civilians, these confrontations meant chaos, separation, and loss. In this image, the father’s protective gesture, shielding his son from seeing his captivity, transcends politics and ideology. It is a moment of love and helplessness in a place defined by violence. The hood was a standard procedure for captured combatants, used to disorient and dehumanize. Yet the presence of the child breaks through that anonymity, reminding the viewer that behind every war prisoner lies a family. The photo was taken by Jean-Marc Bouju for the Associated Press and went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography in 2004 for its raw depiction of human emotion during war.
Ouch..

Israel has been holding the body of Anis Dawla, a Palestinian who died on hunger strike in an Israeli prison in 1980, for 45 years, despite his family pleading for it to be returned. Israel currently holds hundreds of bodies of deceased Palestinians but no one talks about that.
FINALLY HOME: Hamas has handed over remains believed to be those of Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier killed in 2014 whose body was held as a bargaining chip for more than 4,000 days, Israel said Sunday.

Publishing emails linking Epstein to Israeli intelligence is the pinnacle of antisemitism.
NEW: Leaked emails show that Jeffrey Epstein helped arrange talks between the Israeli government and Cote d'Ivoire that culminated in the signing of a formal defense agreement in 2014. Epstein made introductions and held meetings between Ivorian leaders and Israeli intelligence-linked firms and individuals that helped lay the groundwork for the deal that helped flood Cote d'Ivoire with Israeli surveillance tech. This is the latest entry in a series of stories about Epstein's links to the intelligence world, including in Africa. Link in next post:

Very well said. Sequoia is being shunned and will continue to be shunned for their complicity in crimes committed by Israel. What's sad is Zed took money from Sequoia‽ :( Damn..what do I use for editor now‽
Sequoia seems to fundamentally misunderstand the existential crisis it is facing - not surprising since the press seems to misunderstand it too. They think it is misunderstanding, or perhaps political correctness, or even Islamophobia. But it is much much worse than that - both Maguire and Sequoia are complicit in Crimes against Humanity. Maguire's Islamophobia, which he doubled down on, is the thing that made the issue go mainstream, but it is actually Sequoia's support of Israel during the Gaza genocide that is at issue. The context that you have to understand is that the majority of the world recognizes that Israel routinely commits Crimes Against Humanity. That it does so, and that most of the world knows that, are not matters of opinion, but rather simple facts. Crimes Against Humanity include Genocide, Apartheid, Ethnic Cleansing, and War Crimes. It is undoubtable for example that Israel commits Apartheid and Ethnic Cleansing in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and within Israel, as well as within Syria. People have watched Israel commit the most horrendous War Crimes in Gaza, truly disgusting stuff. Leaving babies to die in ventilators, bombing hospitals, the continued awful massacres of civilians, shooting children in the head. Some of the worst atrocities most people have ever seen or even heard of. Israelis like to dispute whether what they've done in Gaza quite constitutes a genocide (varying between "we had to do it" and "intent wasnt there, despite everyone saying at the time that they intended to do it), but literally everybody except them are not confused on the issue. Enter Shaun Maguire. Long before his statements about Mamdani, he has been proudly advocating for Israel's "right" to do these atrocities. Not only that but he personally participated - apparently being personally responsible for getting Israeli military access to surveillance tools (Starlink) used in their genocide in Gaza through his personal connections to Elon Musk. At the same time, in 2024, after the Gaza genocide has begun), Sequoia started investing in Israel again despite not having done it for years. It opened an Israel office, and began investing in Israel companies. Their first investment is a military tech company, Kela, founded by Israeli soldiers. If you're not familiar with this, there is a pipeline from Israeli soldiers (typically but not only spies from Israel's "unit 8200") into tech. Israeli founders "battle test" their tech during their time in the military, by surveilling and killing Palestinians, and then mostly US VCs like Sequoia or a16z invest in their startups which commercialize the tech. If you see police drones above your protest in NYC, guess where they came from. As Israeli VC Roi Carthy said in 2014, "Due to mandatory army service, the tech industry and the army in Israel are intertwined. They can’t be separated". And again, most of the world knows this. If you're in the US, there is significant media bias that hides and downplays Israel's actions. On social media, content exposing Israel is suppressed. Politicians are bought off by AIPAC. But even so most Americans are aware of the genocide and other Crimes Against Humanity, and polls routinely show they are against it. And Sequoia know this. VCs are mostly not idiots. Their supposed superpower is doing deep dives on new topics to them. Learning about Israel's occupation, apartheid, etc, is merely a single search away, and you can bet that every Sequoia VC has done this - it would be foolish not to. Thus Sequoia's pledge to invest 20% of their recent $200M fund in Israeli startups is investing in the actual people who participated in the genocide and other Crimes Against Humanity, and supporting the economy which practices occupation, Apartheid, and other Crimes Against Humanity. Sequoia's complicity has not gone unpunished. Mubi is being boycotted after their CEO accepted a huge investment from Sequoia - not only that but half their entire company wrote a letter to the CEO asking them to give it back. Developers have sworn off Zed for taking Sequoia's investment too, and their founders and management refuse to engage in discussing their investment from Sequoia. Over 1000 founders have publicly asked for Sequoia to act (a counter-petition supporting Maguire, which was mostly signed by Israelis, has mysteriously vanished from the internet - even they won't keep their names on this complicity). No wonder Botha was (allegedly) pushed out. Under his leadership, Sequoia has gone from being the best VC in the world to a toxic asset. No wonder their COO Balbale quit - morals of course but also the financial outcome for the firm looks bad so long as your investments get boycotted for receiving your money. Remember there are 2B Muslims in the world, and 500M Arabs -- those are huge markets and they have over 99% support for Palestinian liberation, and condemnation for Israel's crimes. The US and Western Europe are small markets to confine yourself to, and most of the people in those markets also know what Israel has done. Maguire's actions should cause him to be shunned by society. He participated in a significant way in a genocide, and Sequoia defended him, and is now investing directly in the economy of genocide and other Crimes against Humanity. The complaint is not simply that some people disagree with Maguire, it's actually that Maguire and Sequoia are directly complicit in the worst crimes known to man. This is toxic, and will stay with them probably forever. Founders' and customers' aversion to Sequoia and Sequoia companies has only just begun.

This reminded me of the time in 2016 when I gave a talk at the Toronto Public Library for Pen Canada about Gaza Minutes before I went on stage, I went to the library bathroom and found a member of the local JDL chapter inside scrawling swastikas all over the stalls with a pen
This is a disgusting and heartbreaking act of antisemitism, and it has no place in our beautiful city. As Mayor, I will always stand steadfast with our Jewish neighbors to root the scourge of antisemitism out of our city.

They are gloating that they used legal immigration to invade our country. Naturalized citizens should adopt American values; not import those they fled. We have got to fix this before it is too late.

The real victim is Bari Weiss, not Refaat Alareer whom she helped kill.
Bari Weiss has been so vocal in her support of Israel that she faces frequent death threats. She and her wife, The Free Press co-founder Nellie Bowles, require a detail of five bodyguards that costs the studio $10,000-$15,000 a day. There has also been a noticeable step-up in security measures around Paramount’s executive leadership (one insider says the entire C-suite has received threats).
