Yeah, when I showed the video of my prototype to my friends, they sent me the same link.
That’s actually why I started adding more features like enemies, guns, and so on.
By the way, your game Paddle Paddle Paddle was the inspiration behind this prototype.
I had a lot of fun playing it - great job!
In this version, one player steers and the other pedals.
But I’m already working on a new version where one player drives the bike and the second one shoots.
I think I’ll need to test both approaches to see which one works better.
Mm, not sure. Doesn’t excite me. Could be a thing for coop VR//XR maybe? Given your prototyping speed, I would try a next idea. Keep coop in the recipe, though.
Nice work on such a quick prototype! For the co-op idea, I think it would depend on what you needed the second player to do. Would one be controlling speed and the other steering? Is there a mechanic to "shoot" obstacles chasing you around?
Great idea to try to build off of!
Thanks! Honestly, I’m not sure yet which approach to take.
At first, I wanted one player to steer and the other to pedal.
But now I’m testing a version where one player drives the whole bike and the second one shoots.
I think I’ll record a video soon - maybe folks can help me decide which direction is best.
i'd make both players able to lean the bike one way or another, blue only able to steer, green maybe use A and D to pedal one foot at a time and S to break, idk how you make it fun though
Honestly, I think there needs to be more than just speed vs steering to make this an interesting mechanic. I think one players input should really influence the others to give it something decent for both players.
I feel like the pedeler's roll (he he) is a lot less important then the steerer, would be cool if there was things which would need you to speed up or slow down
