The DOTr has just issued the NOA for the 40 Fast Patrol Crafts for the PCG based on the OCEA FPB110.
Around Dec 2026 would be the expected first French made unit delivery.
Around August 2027 would be the expected delivery of the PH made unit.

A Joint Venture of DYNACAST Shipbuilding and Repair and MEGASHIP Builders was issued a NTP for the one unit of 50m MMOV with helipad.

The 60m MRRV project has been tendered by the PCG.
It’s curious that the ABC slightly lower than 2.5 billion budget likely after talks with Austal.
60m, 25knots, aluminum hull with fenders, >14 days endurance, required to be PH built. Hopefully, start of many 60m MRRVs.
The PCG 12.7mm RCWS project is now being tendered again, same budget but now only for one unit from the previous two.
Possible that the lowering rate of PHP against USD is one reason for the change.
Even the @coastguardph ‘s 7 unit maritime disaster response helicopter project, is stuck and not prioritised for NEDA/@DEPDevgovph Board approval (last step before project start).
With our threats in PH EEZ, the @coastguardph is not being given priority funding by @DBMgovph
However incremental/minimal, yesterday’s commissioning of the @coastguardph ‘s Piper Navajo Chieftain will still aid in Maritime Domain Awareness.
Looks like, their brand new, big ticket acquisitions are concentrated on water assets for the time being.

There was a request for more RCWS this 2026 from the DBM, not yet clear if this was approved to be included in the 2026 NEP.
The actual vessel construction Contract for five 97m MRRVs will be the next step.
The Consultancy Services contract for vessel construction supervision has been awarded.
To be honest, these five 97m MRRVs are VERY FAR from the 40 large PVs the PCG wanted before.

🇵🇭 Senate Committee on Finance Chairman Sen. Gatchalian and Defense Chairman Sen. Legarda commit to at least 2% of GDP spending for DND + AFP by 2028.
Projected 🇵🇭 GDP by 2028 is USD 630 billion or USD 12.6 billion compared to USD 5.06 billion proposed 2026 DND budget.

Speaking of strategic infra as mentioned by Sec Gibo, the 2026 NEP allots 1 billion (out of 5 billion cost) for the new PCG HQ in Cavite.
Besides this, there are preparations for a new PCG Support Facility in Subic.
Hoping the HoR and Senate do not touch this.

Renaming not only entails just air assets, but also has expanded manning and increased budget implications.
In the 2026 DND budget HoR hearing, Sec Gibo mentioned a standby fund to be discussed with DOF and DBM. Not clear if this is the same with loans or just a (ready to trigger) backup fund.
Some deterrent capabilities mentioned were missiles, space tech, drones.

In the 2026 DND House Budget hearing, DND Sec. Teodoro mentioned that the Abukuma class upgrading would come from its regular budget and not from the modernization fund as “that’s not going to be modernized…it will be re-equipped only”.
