The Boyhood of Raleigh by John Everett Millais Walter Raleigh is one of history's most interesting characters. If you visit Edinburgh this Christmas be sure to stop off and see the City's favourite four legged friend, Greyfrairs Bobby. Bobby belonged to Nightwatchman John Gray, following Gray's death in 1858 the loyal Bobby visited his master's grave every single day, for 14 years! The locals kept Bobby well fed during the 14 years and he now sits buried near his former master in Greyfrairs Kirkyard. His headstone reads: Greyfriars Bobby – died 14th January 1872 – aged 16 years – Let his loyalty and devotion be a lesson to us all.
