Bodies have dropped, cruisers have crashed, and officers are already in the ER with the weekend still far from over.
What started early Friday morning in Little Village has turned into a bloody stretch — double homicides, child victims, car crashes, and multiple injured Chicago police officers.
From South Shore to Chatham, gunfire mixed with sirens. A one-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Yates. Two men were gunned down outside a Little Village business in a robbery. Even federal agents drew fire near Kedzie as patrol cars collided across the city.
Little Village stands out as the epicenter — three separate shootings, including the double homicide on 26th Street and an early-morning wounding on 25th — not to mention the running street warfare with ICE agents along the entire 26th Street strip.
