BREAKING: OpenAI is requesting US government support to help guarantee financing for the massive investments in AI chips and data centers it needs for expansion, per Bloomberg.

OpenAI and NVDA are our best shot at winning the AI race. I don't see a problem with government support. China does it so we should, too.

China would have already disappeared Altman for lying to them in public and taken over that "nonprofit" so not really

The race to AGI is one race we can't afford to lose

I think Grok should be too big to fail, too. Every AI company should get unlimited funding

If the government get controlling stake in OpenAI for the guarantee, sure.

No, not a controlling stake. But they should backstop every AI company in the US to make sure we win.

We're not China. Rise and fall on your own merit and do not expect average tax payers like me to socialize your downside while you and your cronies get all the upside with our abused government over spending and imbalanced budgets.

I voted for Trump, twice. But after the Argentina bailout, no, we are not fucking doing this OpenAI private industry bailout. Why tf would we socialize job losses, which more AI will create???

We need to win the race to AGI. This is not about free markets, but national interests.

Dude, are you for real? 😂

Actually, we should backstop every AI company in the US, not just OpenAI.

The whole thing is a scam. AI won’t do anything except enslave humanity.

We don’t need communism because China does it
No!!! Let the private money do it.
2
Don't bother, most of these folks are hypocrites. Back in 2008 Elon was on his knees begging for half-a-billion low interest government loan so company could stay afloat. Government does get involved with startups and it's not communism.

This slows them to produce junk and still get paid. Anytime the gubment pays for something it ends up being average at best because there is no need to really be a top competitor.

If the American people get a share, then sure. Tax me $1888 to subsidize them but give me 10 shares if NVDA in compensation.
2025/2026 version of “Banks’ stability are our best best to a robust economy (despite subprime mortgage and other scams) and they need govt help” 🤦‍♂️👻
Country is 36 odd trillion in debt…..
Look at all the chat gbt bots in here 😂

You pay for it

AI isn’t a race you win
The AI race haha. The bubble
2
Complete and utter nonsense. This would be crony capitalism on steroids. It's like building a million bridges to nowhere. Absolute misallocation of resources.

Only if taxpayers get 10%
Altman is a conman. No chance in hell.
