Apparently, you shouldn’t put anything on twitter you wouldn’t want your Granny to see? Let me introduce you to my Grandma: Valerie Cullen! She joined the circus at 17, toured around Europe in the 20s & 30s in a dance troupe & rode through the streets on a horse as Lady Godiva.

You know who doesn't get asked where their parents were or where their extended family was? Men who sexually abused children. Or where were the other adults working in children's homes who allowed it to happen? Those questions are reserved for survivors of child sexual abuse.

This is terrible. My thoughts are with her family, friends and community. A woman who was stabbed in the neck in an unprovoked attack at a bus stop in Birmingham has died, police have confirmed. Katie Fox, 34, was targeted outside the Bullring shopping centre on Friday.

Just thinking about the time I attempted to talk about some of the relentless social class discrimination and bullying I was experiencing within academia, and a professor of social class inequalities told me I needed to ‘grow a thicker skin to make it in academia'.
I was born homeless, my mum was schizophrenic & my dad a heroin addict, who was in prison & died of AIDS. I experienced institutional child sexual abuse, I'm dyslexic & was illiterate until 11 when I received specialist help. Yes I included my hard worked for DR title in my bio!

The loss of youth centre in this once well resourced country explains so much about why this is a neoliberal hell-hole.

A study from Crisis revealed that almost 300,000 families and individuals across England are experiencing the worst forms of homelessness, including sleeping on the streets, in tents or squats, or stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation such as B&Bs and hostels.
The type of older model charity based housing association used? Crisis charity to become a landlord in attempt to rectify ‘catastrophic’ housing in UK “We don’t want to do this, but if nobody else is going to provide housing, we’ll do it ourselves.” theguardian.com/society/2025…

I think many men also weren't given a choice, especially in compulsory conscription. But yes! Animals are often forgotten about. One of my great grandfathers worked with the horse cavalry during the WW1.
Today is Remembrance Sunday. It is a time to think about those who often had no choice but to perform heroic acts on our behalf. I’m thinking of my hero, Simon pdsa.org.uk/what-we-do/anima…
