The Republicans in the Senate won't nuke the filibuster because that would undermine the uniparty plan to slow walk the Trump agenda until he's out of office, and they can try and get back to business as usual. None of these people wants to MAGA. They just want to wait him out.

This is correct. Everything that’s happened over the past two months has signaled to the left that assassinations work. Take out one of our leaders and we’ll start eating each other. That’s the message we’ve conveyed, loud and clear. And it puts us in serious danger. They aren’t going to stop now. Someone else will get taken out in the not too distant future. I’m very confident about that.

I was watching Netflix’s new series Death by Lightning. It’s set in Chicago, 1880 - and this establishing scene pops up. In the foreground: •an Asian woman, •two Black men, •and a one-legged man - all walking together downtown. It immediately stuck out to me, so I looked up the actual demographics for Chicago in 1880. Here’s what the numbers say: •Chicago’s population: about 503,000 •Black population: 6,500 (≈1.3%) •Chinese population: 172 total (≈0.03%) •Chinese women? About 3% of that - meaning roughly 5 total in the entire city. •Disabled/one-legged men from the Civil War era? Plausible, maybe 0.1–0.2% of the population. So if you ran the math on the odds of seeing all of that - an Asian woman, two Black men, and an amputee - in one random 50-person crowd downtown, it comes out to about 0.00016%, or roughly 1 in 640,000. In other words, Netflix made a scene that’s about as statistically likely as spotting a UFO on your morning commute - but hey, at least the diversity box got checked.

Think of what each side wants to do when they nuke the filibuster: Democrats want to expand the court, add new states, and give voting rights to illegals. Republicans want Voter ID. It’s the criminals vs the people trying to stop their crimes. Senate RINOs need to recognize where we are right now. They shot Trump and Charlie. Win or be destroyed.

It feels like there's still a weight on the economy. In 2016 it felt like Trump had let a tiger off its leash, and now the economy feels like a continuation of Biden's. Whether it’s the tariffs, interest rates, not enough deregulation, or something else, it needs to get fixed.
