Five years ago this week, the Government, including Presidential candidate Heather Humphreys, voted to seal Mother and Baby Home records for 30 years.
Last week, she said: “It doesn’t matter at this stage”.

Survivors of abuse at Ireland’s industrial & reformatory schools are in week 4 of a hunger strike outside the Dáil.
They have 2 primary demands; a HAA card & a contributory pension.
The Irish government and the EU must deliver long overdue justice and equality for survivors.
I welcome news that Jennie’s Law is to be brought before Cabinet ⚖️
I want to commend Jennie Poole’s family for turning their grief into action, that will undoubtedly save lives.
Let’s make sure the register covers all types of abuse, not only physical violence!
