New article by J. Cohn in @JConIdeas documents the suppression of debate (including refusal to correct serious errors and misrepresentations) by medical journals such as @NEJM and @JAMA_current. The article is an excellent summary of the debate over pediatric gender medicine.

Say what you want about Ben Shapiro, but he is one of the few voices on the right who actually has the courage to call things as they are, even when it means standing up to his own side. While others tiptoe around “friends” like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens to avoid backlash, Ben does not cower or compromise. He calls out hypocrisy, antisemitism, and moral cowardice wherever he sees it. In an era where too many people care more about protecting alliances than protecting principles, that kind of integrity takes serious backbone.

I don't know if I can listen anymore, it becomes much worse. "He (the captor) says to me: ‘Listen, if you convert to Islam, we’ll bring you lots of food, you’ll live with us.’ And I told him, ‘I was born a Jew, I’ll die a Jew.’ That's when it got much worse. He came with a note and said, ‘It says here to blindfold you. These are orders from above’ He tied the blindfold over my eyes. Made sure I couldn’t see even a drop of light: tied one shirt around my eyes, and another shirt over it. Now, my bathroom breaks were only three times a day: 9 a.m., 4 p.m., and 9 p.m. It was a nightmare. I had to hold my urine for hours. He also cut down my drinking water to half a liter a day. A week passed — and I was still blindfolded. After a week, he said, ‘There’s another letter. It says to block your ears.’ He came in holding two stones. He took off the blindfold just to show them to me. He was happy, grinning. He said, ‘Look what I brought you. I found these outside, looked for them just for you.’ He pushed one stone into my ear. It didn’t fit well. So he took a nail and started forcing it in with the nail, deeper and deeper. I screamed, but he didn’t care. He kept pushing it in, deeper. Then he moved to the other ear and did the same thing. He left the stones inside, the pain was coming from deep inside. Then he retied the blindfold even tighter, wrapping it on top again. I still have a hematoma here to this day. He tied it as tight as he could. It pressed on me so hard that blood stopped flowing to my head. I could feel pounding in my skull, my brain was throbbing, I could feel my own blood, the pain! I’ve never in my life felt pain like that. It’s pain I can’t even describe. And no food. Not even a pita a day anymore. And that went on for three weeks: blindfolded, no bathroom, hungry, in agony, with stones in my head! Then he came to me again and said, ‘There’s another letter — it says to tie you up and torture you.’” Interview with Rom Braslavski by @HazinorX

Sixth Circuit (en banc) rules that schools may not compel students to use preferred pronouns. The court notes that compelling pronouns “skews the debate” over trans issues. @DefendingEd brought the case.

Well, The Blaze just hired a “reporter” whose entire beat is, apparently, to demonize a single ethnic group in the US—Indian Americans. “DEI” or “Deport Every Indian,” as he writes. This will end terribly for the GOP, who made substantial gains with Indian voters in 2024.
I'm pleased to announce that @theblaze has hired me as a reporter on H-1B/Indian issues. My first article, on the H-1B and DEI-fueled collapse of USAA, is up now. Link in reply. Thank you to everyone at THE BLAZE for giving me this opportunity!
Very nice! I like!

I don't know of any Jews who would take offense that a Christian decided not to participate in a Shabbat dinner due to a sincere faith conviction. We Jews should be--and most Jews are--happy to see young men and women live their lives according to their Christian faith.
Evan Myers, who has been credited with helping write Kevin Roberts’ book and is reportedly involved in crafting his public statements, is said to have worked on the video Roberts filmed last Thursday with Ryan Neuhaus. He has also stated that his faith “prevents” him from attending a Shabbat dinner.

Interesting thread
The big story of the 2025 New York Mayoral election is age polarization. 81% of women under 30 voted for Mamdani. Just 32-33% of over 65 years old did.

Yes. Teen Vogue. When I was an adolescent, these magazines focused on fashion and entertainment. And all we had to worry about were the messages telling us we had to look a certain way, and that there was something wrong with our bodies. Oh, wait...
Teen Vogue was one of the first places I ever got to write the kinds of more radical stories about mental health, polyamory, queerness, trans people and more. I helped shape the identity and politics verticals back in 2017-2018 and seeing it ruined is nothing short of horrific.

This morning, I tendered my resignation from The Heritage Foundation's task force on combating antisemitism. I wrote: I cannot in good conscience stand with Heritage or continue on the task force under its current auspices. I have great respect for all of you, and I consider many of you personal friends. And at the urging of the Co-Chairs, I was prepared to defer this decision at least until we could get important questions answered about the future of Heritage and the conservative movement. But then Roberts made his statement at Hillsdale last night. It is a strategic non-apology that doubles down on “loyalty” to Tucker Carlson, muses about welcoming groypers and the groyper-curious into the movement, and continues to gaslight everyone about “cancelation” when that clearly isn’t the issue. It is the elevation of blind loyalty and a thirst for power above principle—the very opposite of historical American conservatism. I cannot tread this path with you. The stakes for our country and for our Jewish friends are simply too high, too existential. I welcome efforts, already underway, to reconstitute some part of this auspicious group and continue the important work of stewarding our American freedoms, combating antisemitism, and renewing the great Judeo-Christian spirit of our civilization. I will continue to pray for Heritage, its personnel, and its trustees, particularly Dr. George [@McCormickProf].
I’m disappointed by this statement. Roberts still thinks the issue is “cancelation” of Tucker Carlson. That’s a red herring. No one is canceling Tucker. The issue is Roberts’ defending Tucker after he platformed and coddled one of the most virulent antisemites in America today. And Roberts now admits his motivation was to try to attract groypers and the groyper-adjacent into the conservative movement. This is a tepid apology at best.
Besides the disappointing absence of clownfish, I felt this paper missed an important explanatory opportunity to discuss the Black Indigenous Queer Palestinian origins of mammalian biology. Grade: C-
🚨BREAKING: My Commentary in Archives of Sexual Behavior—“Why There Are Exactly Two Sexes”—has been published! In it, I explain why biological sex is binary in all anisogamous species, defined strictly by the type of gamete (sperm or ova) an organism’s reproductive system has the biological function to produce. The paper also debunks five activist-inspired models that try to redefine sex: 1. Mating-type model – confuses microbial compatibility types with sexes. 2. Karyotype model – mistakes chromosomal variations for additional sexes. 3. Spectrum model – misuses DSDs to claim sex is continuous. 4. Polythetic model – redefines the sexes as “clusters” of traits rather than categories rooted in reproductive function. (this model is self-refuting, read the paper to understand why) 5. Multilevel model – wrongly distributes “sex” across traits (genes, hormones, behavior) instead of gametes. (this model is also self-refuting) Across all organisms with anisogamy, there are only two fundamental strategies based on reproductive function: male and female. Everything else—chromosomes, hormones, morphology—is derivative, not definitional. If you're looking for an academic paper to cite laying out the empirical case for why sex is binary and why all other models either totally fail or actually presuppose the binary gametic model, this is it. 🔗link.springer.com/article/10…
