Breakdown of the curved path tracking we used on the new LN site 👇 Problem: We needed object tracking on a curved path animation between multiple points that’s fully responsive. Solution: Dynamic Bezier curves instead of static SVG. The function calculates anchor positions, generates smooth S-curves, and auto-recalculates on resize. GSAP’s motionPath/scrollTrigger handles scroll-sync while the element’s size interpolates along the path. The tool: To stop myself going insane I built a configurator/debug mode to fine-tune the curves, drag control points, instant preview, copy values etc. Once dialed in, we track the DOM element’s position and sync the WebGL to it. In the end the path that we chose in production was fairly straightforward and I could have used separate x/y transforms and eases... but overengineering is fun none the less.
